TREK OVERVIEW

Uttarakhand’s Chopta Chandrashila trek is one of its most popular trekking routes, combining natural beauty with spirituality. The trek starts from Chopta (8,000 ft), then passes through the renowned Tungnath Temple (12,000 ft) before arriving at Chandrashila Peak (13,000 ft). With a Chopta Chandrashila trek distance of roughly 8 km (round trip), this trail offers a balanced mix of adventure and tranquility. This moderate-to-difficult trek, through scenic forests, alpine meadows, and panoramic views of the Himalayas, is sure to create a truly memorable adventure with MadTrek Adventures.

Day 1 - Morning Departure from Rishikesh to Chopta | Drive

Start your trip with a beautiful drive from Rishikesh/Haridwar to Chopta, organized by MadTrek. Chopta, sometimes referred to as the "Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand," serves as the starting point for trails such as Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila. The 200-kilometer route winds past Himalayan villages, woods, and verdant valleys. After arriving, settle into your campsite and enjoy the tranquil natural beauty of this trekking haven.

Day 2 - Day Trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila Summit | Return to Chopta

Distance: 8 km (Round trip to Chandrashila)
Duration: 6-8 hours
Altitude: Tungnath Temple: 3,680 meters and Chandrashila Summit: 4,000 meters

Start early for Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, before continuing to Chandrashila Peak. The Chopta Chandrashila trek package offers a stunning journey through panoramic Himalayan views and peaceful landscapes. Return to Chopta by evening and unwind at the campsite.

Day 3 - Drive from Chopta to Rishikesh/ Haridwar with a Visit to Sari Village and Deoriatal Trek

After breakfast, MadTrek arranges your transfer back to Rishikesh/Haridwar or Dehradun, with an optional detour to Deoriatal. After exploring Deoriatal, continue your journey to Rishikesh or Dehradun, from where you can board a Volvo bus to Delhi, reflecting on the unforgettable Tungnath-Chandrashila trek package.

THINGS TO CARRY

  • Top and bottom thermal innerwear: Keeps the body warm, retains heat, wicks away moisture, is comfortable, and is necessary for hiking.
  • Down or synthetic insulated jacket: Lightweight, warm, heat-retaining, ideal for damp or cold weather.
  • Waterproof Trekking Boots: Insulated, long-lasting, comfortable, and capable of protecting feet from snow and water.
  • Woolen Socks (3-4 pairs): Three or four pairs of wool socks will keep your feet warm, dry, and odor-free. For added comfort, switch up your pairs.
  • Windproof insulated gloves: These gloves keep hands warm, are nimble, and are necessary for using trekking poles.
  • Balaclava or Neck Warmer: A neck warmer or balaclava protects the face and neck from wind, keeps the body warm, is lightweight, adaptable, and pleasant.
  • Waterproof Jacket and Pants: Breathable, lightweight, and long-lasting for hiking, these items offer protection from snow, rain, and wind.
  • Headlamp with Extra Batteries: Essential for night trekking, adjustable brightness, spare batteries prevent power loss.
  • First Aid Kit: Contains bandages, antiseptics, painkillers, blister care, personal medications, and emergency essentials.
  • Sun Protection (Sunscreen, Lip Balm, Sunglasses): Prevents sunburn, UV protection for skin, lips, eyes at altitude.
  • Personal Toiletry Kit: Compact, lightweight, waterproof pouch with hygiene essentials, quick-dry towel, sanitizer.
  • A headlamp with extra Batteries: Is necessary for trekking at night because it can be adjusted in brightness and keeps power from going out.
  • First Aid Kit: Bandages, antiseptics, pain relievers, blister care products, personal medications, and emergency supplies.
  • Sun Protection (sunblock, lip balm, and sunglasses): Shields the skin, lips, and eyes from UV rays at high altitudes and helps prevent sunburn.
  • Personal Toiletry Kit: Small, light, waterproof bag including sanitizer, quick-dry towel, and other necessities for personal hygiene.
CONFIRMATION POLICY
  • Within a day of a successful booking, the client gets a voucher of the confirmation through email.
  • If the preferred slots are not available, an alternative schedule will be arranged according to the preference of the customer, and a new voucher of confirmation will be sent through email.
  • Alternatively, before confirmation, the customer can decide to cancel their booking, and a complete refund will be issued.
CANCELLATION POLICY
  • Cancellations made in between 45 days of the start date of the trip will be assessed a cancellation fee of 25% of the total tour cost.
  • Cancellations made between 15-30 days of the trip’s start date will be charged 50% of the total tour cost as cancellation fees.
  • If you cancel within 0-15 days of the trip’s start date, you will be charged 100% of the entire tour cost as cancellation fees.
  • In the event of bad weather or government restrictions, any trips or events may be cancelled. In such a case, the operators will do all possible to give a viable alternative. However, a cash refund is not available on this item.
REFUND POLICY

If you select a refund after canceling your trek, the refund amount will be deposited into the payment account that you had used while making payment to us. It will take ten to twelve working days.
