Hampta Pass Trek is one of the most sensational passes across himachal as one side scenery from the top is entirely different from others. Explore the lush green valley of Kullu and landscape with no vegetation with barren mountains of Lahaul. The trek starts from place Jobra in Manali valley and ends at a remote place called Chatru in Lahaul valley.

The trek is full of greenery, on one side the River Rani and the mountain ranges. As you move up to Balu ka Ghera from Chika, catch the first glimpses of the mighty Dhauladhar range covering the whole scenery with flower-filled valleys and meadows on this fantastic journey. The steep slopes are the ones that greet you next before you reach the majestic Hampta Pass. Take a lunch break at Hampta Village for some time on the way. Experience the serene peace that encircles the valley. You will be accompanied by a confluence of three routes – Hampta Pass, Spiti, and Rohtang Pass and the green heaven to reach a height of around 14,100 ft. The ultimate destination is the Chandratal lake surrounded by spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains and clouds over.

After self breakfast, we will transfer you by shared jeep from Manali bus stand to place called Jobra, which is also our trek starting point. Get briefings from your travel guide and gear up at this point for a quick 10,400 ft hike to Chika.
It’s a simple walk to the Chika campsite on the banks of Rani Nallah, a 2 km path that takes you through a mixed pine, green maple and birch trees forest. With the Himachal’s mesmerizing topography coming into action, the climb is hardly realized by you. Travel along with the River Rani, which portrays the scenery of big rocky hills in utter majestic beauty, while trekking.
Move on yet another pleasant day from Chika campsite. Experience the feeling of living in the Himalayas as you see the first glimpse of the outer Himalayan mountain range as the Dhauladhar range start appearing. Arrive at Ghera ka Balu and stay for the day at this place. Have snacks, and spend the rest of the day, relaxing in a breathtaking ambience.

Begin your day with a steep climb. Enjoy a panoramic sight from the top and then continue heading down to the next campsite. Explore the blissful calm that encompasses the valley, at this high altitude pass you may meet shepherds who visit the valley to feed their sheep with the grass that grows around the town. You’ll continue the descent to the base-camp for approximately 8 hours. at Siagoru after a short stay at village Hampta. The pass has been named after this village.
Trek today will be a relatively easy exploration across the Lahaul valley. Begin descent across the Hampta Valley, after breakfast. You will see the group of the Pir Panjal ranges appearing in front of you. Such beautiful landscape trails together with you across Spiti before you arrive at Chatru base-camp.Love the breathtaking view of a cold desert in high altitude at Spiti Valley.

It’s the last day your Hampta pass trekking. Walk down the high altitude pass after breakfast that links the humid Kullu Valley and the arid Lahaul and Spiti Valley. After coming back to Manali, depart with a bag full of memories for your homeward journey.
